Adult Medicaid Medicaid is required to assure transportation to medical appointments for all eligible individuals who need and request assistance with transportation. Transportation Administration of Cleveland County, Inc. (TACC) is a local, non-profit transit provider serving residents of Cleveland County. Non-emergency transportation is available for those who are elderly, disabled or lack reliable transportation. ADA-accessible vans are used for door-to-door scheduling; vans also have audio and video surveillance systems. Services are provided for medical appointments, pharmacy visits, dialysis, adult day care and more. Services are also available for out of county appointments such as Gastonia, Charlotte and the Asheville VA Medical center.

Cleveland County Transit

CCT is a deviated fixed-route system with 27 bus stops around the city limits of Shelby. CCT makes five rounds daily with 27 stops. This service is free to the general public and runs Monday-Friday from 7am – 3 pm.

CCT and REACH routes were combined in
June 2025.
